"Where two sacred terroirs converge in quiet depth."
A rare dual-origin blend uniting the bold vitality of Kagoshima with the refined elegance of Uji (Kyoto). Limited to just 500kg per year. Two of Japan's greatest tea regions meet in a single cup of extraordinary complexity. Rich sweetness and slowly unfolding layers of umami.
NAKAI 102 represents the art of blending two of Japan's most distinguished matcha origins. Kagoshima's volcanic soil delivers mineral-rich depth, while Uji's centuries-old tencha tradition brings luminous refinement. This limited-production organic specialty matcha is stone-milled to preserve the nuance of both terroirs — a rare expression of Japanese matcha craftsmanship. JAS Organic certified.
Rich sweetness with layers of umami that slowly unfold. Elegant complexity with a clean, refined finish. Vibrant emerald color with a silky, full-bodied texture.
For usucha: whisk 2g with 70ml water at 80°C. For lattes: whisk 2g with 30ml hot water, then add steamed milk. The complexity of this blend shines in both traditional and modern preparations.

ORIGIN · 土地
— volcanic spring water / 700 years of tradition / depth / refinement
Kirishima's 70% brings the mellow, mineral-rich umami of volcanic spring water and kuroboku soil — a depth formed over millennia. Uji's 30% contributes ooi-ka, the elegant seaweed-like fragrance that exists only in shade-grown tencha — the result of 700 years of covered cultivation. Where these two sacred origins meet, depth and brightness coexist in perfect accord.
CULTIVAR · 品種
— Okumidori / Saemidori
Two cultivars. Two dimensions. One harmony.
Guided by the intuition of Tea Master Morita, three-time champion of the National Tea Appraisal Competition. Its composition — 70% Kirishima, 30% Uji — reflects his craft in harmonizing the purest expressions of each terroir.
ROASTING · 火入れ
— gentle roasting / polish / clarity / craftsmanship
Hiire is the fire that polishes sweetness and brings the blend into serene balance, performed by artisans whose decades of experience define aroma, depth, and finish.
Milky umami opens with quiet, mellow depth, wrapped in creamy sweetness, settling into a long, resonant stillness that echoes gently — like a note sustained after the instrument has gone silent.
Top : Milky umami & creamy green — soft, mellow, unhurried
Mid : Ooi-ka elegance & volcanic depth — two sacred origins in one breath
Finish : Long quiet resonance — still, refined, lingering

Low temperature is strongly recommended. Below 60°C, Okumidori's milky umami and Saemidori's creamy sweetness emerge in their clearest, most elegant form. Hot water will lift Uji's ooi-ka — the delicate seaweed-like fragrance born of 700 years of shade cultivation.
