NAKAI 103 Organic Specialty Matcha — Bold, Earthy Japanese Matcha from Kagoshima
A bold-character Specialty matcha fusing the earthy depth of Kagoshima with the luminous clarity of Uji. 103 is defined by its assertive profile: a firm bitterness supported by powerful umami and vivid green aroma. For those who seek presence and energy in their matcha.
NAKAI 103 is for matcha drinkers who want character over delicacy. This organic specialty grade matcha brings together leaves from Kagoshima — known for bold, mineral-rich terroir — with the refined processing traditions of Uji, Kyoto. The result is a matcha with striking depth, ideal for those who appreciate a full-bodied, energizing cup. JAS Organic certified for purity you can trust.
Assertive umami, earthy depth, firm bitterness with a vivid green, vegetal aroma. Full-bodied texture with a long, energizing finish. A matcha that demands attention.
For a robust usucha: whisk 2g with 60–70ml water at 80°C. For a bold matcha latte: whisk 2–3g with 30ml hot water, then add steamed milk. Excellent for matcha smoothies, energy bowls, and baking where matcha flavor needs to stand out.

ORIGIN · 土地
— volcanic kuroboku soil / morning mist / spring water / velvet depth
Kirishima's volcanic Shirasu Plateau brings mineral richness, deep jade color, and the mellow umami that only kuroboku soil can produce. Uji's 30% contributes the complexity of ooi-ka — the seaweed-like fragrance born of 700 years of shade cultivation, adding transparency and aromatic refinement to the blend's powerful foundation.
CULTIVAR · 品種
— Okumidori / Saemidori
Two cultivars. Structure and brightness in balance.
Guided by the intuition of Tea Master Morita — 70% Kirishima, 30% Uji — a composition that achieves both weight and transparency at once.
ROASTING · 火入れ
— gentle roasting / polish / clarity / craftsmanship
Precision hiire that polishes fragrance and removes impurity, without diminishing Okumidori's chlorophyll-rich body — maintaining both depth and clarity in every cup.
Deep jade umami opens with grounded, earthy vitality, brightened by the elegance of Uji's ooi-ka, settling into a velvet body that roots the senses and leaves the palate quietly alive.
Top : Layered umami & ooi-ka elegance — bold, aromatic, alive
Mid : Milky depth & luminous sweetness — Kirishima earth meets Uji refinement
Finish : Structural velvet body — grounding, posture-setting, lasting

For extra sweetness and umami, whisk with water below 60°C (140°F). Lower temperature reveals a smoother, gentler flavor.
